Hudson Regional Manager Agnes Tupper meets with newly elected congressman, Joe Kennedy III along with NEMED Executive Director and Members.

On Monday, March 25th, Hudson Regional Manager Agnes Tupper, along with other NEMED members, met with Rep. Joe Kennedy III at his district office in Newton, MA to educate him on competitive bidding and share concerns. His Health Legislative Aide in DC joined us by teleconference. Mr. Kennedy was very attentive and quickly understood the issues. We will continue to follow up with his DC staff.

“NEMED set a goal to meet personally with all the newly elected officials in New England after the election,” said NEMED executive director Karyn Estrella. “We met earlier in the year with Reps. Annie Kuster (D-NH) and Elizabeth Esty (D-CT) and those meetings went very well. Rep. Kennedy was the last person on our list and he was very receptive. I believe that all three officials will be supportive of the Market Pricing Program legislation once it is introduced.”

Those in attendance from left: Michael Schleipfer (Alternative Care Providers), Karyn Estrella (New England Medical Equipment Dealers Associtation), Rep. Joe Kennedy III, Agnes Tupper (Hudson Seating and Mobility), Jason Morin (Home Care Specialists) and Bob Simmons (Boston Home Infusion).

Home Health Care providers at Hudson Accessibility Solutions

Approximately 30 therapists, nurses, and social workers from a local home health care agency recently attended Hudson’s “Accessibility Options for the Home” – a 1 hour CEU approved course held at Hudson Accessibility Solutions, in Pomfret Center, CT.

Holding the course at our Accessibility location allowed for a more “hands on” seminar where the attendees were able to physically trial each accessibility product.  From stairway lifts, to vertical platform-elevator lifts, and overhead tracking lifts, the attendees were able to demo the equipment they were learning about.

It was identified that both the home health care agency and Hudson have a mutual goal of keeping patients in their home!
